What Oxnard Housing Means for Your Cabinets
Roughly a third of Oxnard's housing was built between 1940 and 1969, a large further share between 1970 and 1999, and about 21 percent from 2000 onward. In practice Riverpark and Seabridge are 2000s construction, Seabridge completing around 2009, while Silver Strand is largely 1970 to 1999 and the Henry T. Oxnard Historic District goes back to the early 1900s.
That range matters because the right cabinet answer is not the same in
each of them. A house whose boxes are solid and whose doors are simply dated
wants refacing or refinishing. A house whose particleboard boxes have taken
water under the sink wants replacement. We look at what you already have
before recommending anything, which is why the estimate itemizes box
construction, doors, finish and hardware as separate lines rather than
presenting one number.
Oxnard is directly on the coast, so the marine layer deposits salt-bearing moisture overnight and the afternoon sun dries it into a crust. Within about five miles of the water we specify 316 stainless hardware and seal all six sides of every door, because coastal air attacks standard fasteners far faster than inland air does.
We cover Riverpark, Seabridge, Silver Strand, Oxnard Shores, Mandalay Bay and the Henry T. Oxnard Historic District and the surrounding areas.
